Natural tradition

 

Naranjas Clementina began as a small family business in the middle of last century, growing mandarins and oranges in the orchards around the town of La Vilavella, in the Castello county.

At that time, our grandparents worked in a small warehouse packing the fresh citrus in boxes, decorated with brightly coloured paper. Over time, as the business grew, our fruit was sent to the National Spanish markets at Bilbao, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Madrid and Santander.

 

 

The development of cool chambers and post-harvest treatments changed the focus of production methods, most of the big citrus companies began to concentrated more on the visual appearance of the citrus fruit rather than its taste and internal quality. Over time many local growers in Spain stopped marketing fresh produce locally, having made the decision to compromise and sell to the mass market.

 

Today, third generation of those farmers has decided to go back in time to re-introduce real taste of mandarins and oranges, directly from the tree to your table, combining the old secrets of flavour with new technologies.
